MSS Mineral Insulated Heating Cables – Tmax 600 °C
The MSS range of mineral insulated (MI) stainless steel-sheathed heating cables has been developed to meet the specific requirement for a cable with high thermal capacity and electrical resistance values suitable for long circuit lengths.
To achieve this, a stainless steel sheath is combined with heating conductors, allowing an operating temperature of 600 °C with resistance values ranging from 2.1 Ω/km to 36,100 Ω/km per conductor.
An outer HDPE sheath must be used when the cable is installed in specific situations such as corrosion protection, burial, or snow-melting applications.
MI heating cables offer excellent mechanical strength and are corrosion resistant.
The MSS heating cable is approved to ATEX, IEC, IECEx, and CE standards for use in both hazardous and non-hazardous areas.

MSS series heating cables are designed for the most demanding industrial environments: their stainless steel sheath provides exceptional thermal resistance, high mechanical strength, and outstanding corrosion protection.

With an operating temperature of up to 600 °C and circuit lengths of up to 5–6 km, MSS mineral insulated cables are perfectly suited for freeze protection of highly exposed pipelines, such as steam manifolds, as well as for process temperature maintenance.
Application example: In installations where pipelines are exposed to high temperatures and extreme climatic conditions, such as steam manifolds or header lines.
Problem example: Conventional heating cables cannot withstand high temperatures or corrosive environments. Long circuits require high resistance values and increased mechanical robustness.
The MSS Solution
The MSS MI heating cable, with its stainless steel sheath, is designed for demanding environments. It withstands temperatures up to 600 °C, is corrosion resistant, and enables circuit lengths of several kilometres. It is a robust and durable solution for temperature maintenance and freeze protection of pipelines exposed to severe conditions.
MSS Mineral Insulated Heating Cables are used in the following sectors:
-Chemical & Petrochemical
-Machine Building
-Outdoor Industrial Installations
-Heat Treatment and Metallurgy
-Infrastructure and De-icing
-Food & Beverage Industry
-General Industry
