Self-regulating Heating Cables – Contact Rail Heater (CRH)
The self-regulating heating cable "contact rail heater" has been specially designed for contact rails and energized rails operating up to 750 volts DC.
This heating cable is essential to ensure the operational integrity of railway networks by keeping contact rails free of snow and ice, even under adverse weather conditions.
The system is designed to be directly interchangeable with existing contact rail heaters, allowing seamless integration into current contact rail or energized rail heating systems.
The self-regulating heating cable is securely fixed onto the rail using a protective GRP (glass-reinforced plastic) channel and robust rail clips, ensuring a stable and durable installation even in harsh conditions.
This self-regulating heating cable complies with the current European Union standards (CE).

The Contact Rail Heater (CRH) is a self-regulating heating cable specially designed for contact rails and third rails under 750 V DC systems. It provides reliable protection against ice and snow buildup, while automatically adapting to temperature changes. The CRH ensures quick installation and optimal resistance up to 250 °C, even in demanding railway environments.
CRH self-regulating heating cables are engineered to withstand the specific stresses of railway conditions, such as severe and continuous vibrations caused by traffic, immersion in icy water, snow, herbicides, diesel oils, lubricating oils, oxalic acid, and de-icing fluids. These heating cables can operate fully or partially exposed to air without compromising their service life.
Installation of the CRH cable is fast and straightforward, requiring no special skills or tools. Both new and replacement heating cables can be easily and quickly installed, minimizing track occupation time and reducing disruptions to rail traffic.
